AR Denarius, 3.78g. 17.5 mm.  Spanish mint, c.18 B.C.   S P Q R PARENT CONS SVO.  Elaborate toga picta over tunica palmata; aquilia on left and wreath on right.  Rev. CAESARI AVGVSTO.  Slow quadriga advancing to right; the two side panels of the cart are decorated with victories; a miniature quadriga above.  RIC 97.  BMC 397.  Banti and Simonetti V,90,440(this coin).  Remarkable strike and lovely toning; among the finest known examples.
